A rare plant found only in South Carolina made its debut on the scientific stage late last year. Herbarium curator John Nelson and alumnus Douglas Rayner published the details needed to establish a news species of hedge-nettle, Stachys caroliniana, in a November issue of the Journal of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas.![]()
