The Aiken County Democratic Party will host a hot dog fundraiser at the Odell Weeks Activity Center pavilion Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Probate Judge Sue Roe, the Democratic incumbent, will attend the event and meet with the public. She faces opposition in the November general election from Republican Jane Page Thompson.

Democratic party officials said they have invited S.C. Sen. Nikki Setlzer of Lexington to appear. His District 26 includes part of Aiken County. Setzler is opposed in November by Aiken Republican Deedee Vaughters.

Moses Mims, the Aiken Democratic Party’s communications director, said Aiken City Council members Lessie Price and Gail Diggs are expected to attend the event as well.
