Three people, including two children, were killed in a Wednesday mobile home fire in Edgefield County.
Laterrious Watkins, 24, and her two children Aubrey McKie, 2, and Jacob McKie Jr., 1, died in the early morning blaze, according to Edgefield County Chief Deputy Coroner David Burnett.
The cause of death was determined to be carbon monoxide poisoning and thermal injury, according to Edgefield County Deputy Coroner Luther Beason.
The call regarding the fire on Country Club Road was received at 4:20 a.m.
One other person, the father of the two children, escaped the fire, Beason said.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation, according to Edgefield County Cpl. Robbie Harter.
Beason added that no foul play is suspected.
