An Aiken man was jailed on allegations of downloading and sharing child pornography, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
Brisbon Chapman, 22, was charged with five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was placed in the Aiken County detention center but was in the process of being released Monday afternoon.
The Sheriff's Office was contacted earlier this month by an investigator with the S.C. Attorney General's Office, who said she was conducting "a proactive investigation into the file sharing of child pornography," according to a sheriff's report. The investigator said she had downloaded five video files from a single-source IP address, and she served an order on the Internet service provider.
The attorney general investigator learned the IP address was assigned to an address on Dogwood Road in Aiken at the time the downloads occurred, police said. She drafted an affidavit and forwarded the investigation to the Sheriff's Office to investigate further, because of the incident location being in Aiken County.
The incident report contains no other details beyond saying the case is still under investigation.
