Pickens couple charged with neglecting children, adult
PICKENS, S.C. (AP) — A Pickens couple has been charged with neglect of a child and a vulnerable adult after their home was found filled with garbage, moldy food and roaches.
Local media outlets report Tuesday that 23-year-old Jeremy Ray Holder and 24-year-old Erin Nicole Holder each were charged with two counts of child neglect and neglect of a vulnerable adult.
Deputies and social services workers went to the home after receiving allegations of neglect. They found the children's feet crusted with dirt and animal feces. The adult had roaches in her bed.
Deputies say they are the parents of the children, and Erin Holder is the vulnerable adult's daughter. The children and adult have been placed with other family members.
The couple surrendered to authorities, and it wasn't known if they had attorneys.
