The National Weather Service is predicting thunderstorms to move through Aiken County this morning and early afternoon.
A 60 percent chance for thunderstorms and rain is in the forecast for today. The morning temperatures have only reached the high 40s and low 50s but is expected to rise to about 69 degrees later today.
The Weather Service issued a weather statement Monday morning after picking up a line of storms moving 55 miles per hour on its radar about 7:40 a.m. Those storms were expected to move through the area by 8:45 a.m. Gusty winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour and pea-sized hail were expected.
