Rainy weather brewing

The nice weather comes to an end today as rainy weather is imminent.

In the beginning of the week, we can expect thunderstorms with a 50 percent chance of rain today and an 80 percent chance on Tuesday.

Temperatures will be in the mid 80s at the beginning of the week.

The end of the week looks better with overcast and foggy weather on Wednesday, and it will be partly cloudy for the remainder of the week with temperatures in the low 80s to high 70s.

According to National Weather Service forecaster Hunter Coleman, this weather isn't exactly normal compared to past years.

"In the beginning of the week, we'll have normal temperatures, but it will cool off towards the end of the week with temperatures in the low 80s, which is below normal," Coleman said.

The rain predicted for this week should prove to help in regards to the drought.

The most recent drought information was issued on Sept. 11 with an update for Aiken County.

"You are improving. The last statement issued says that the area is abnormally dry," Coleman said.
