All eight members of Aiken County's legislative delegation will be at a meeting Monday in Wagener to get input and answer questions from local residents.

The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. at the Wagener Town Hall. The delegation members expected to be present are Rep. Bill Hixon, Rep. Bill Taylor, Rep. Don Wells, Rep. Bill Clyburn, Rep. Chris Corley, Sen. Shane Massey, Sen. Nikki G. Setzler and Sen. Tom Young.

The delegation often meets in Aiken, but Taylor said he has promoted holding meetings in different parts of the county to make the legislators more accessible to constituents. The delegation recently met in Jackson and in North Augusta.

"I think it's important that we have the delegation meetings in various locales so that we are more accessible to all citizens," Taylor said. "Representing the Wagener, Perry and Salley area, in particular; I am most pleased that we'll be there Monday. I hope many citizens will take this opportunity to come to the delegation meeting and, if they have issues, to speak to us about them."

Young, chairman of the delegation, said he anticipates holding meetings in other areas of the county in the future.

"The meetings were held in Aiken for a number of years," he said. "We just felt it was important to move around the county and have our meetings in different places so that some of the residents in the communities outside of Aiken would have a chance to attend and provide comments."

To reserve a space on the official agenda to speak at the meeting, call Jeannie Cadden, the delegation manager, at 803-642-1694.
