Aiken Department of Public Safety officers arrested three people for multiple drug and firearms offenses Tuesday afternoon.

Jeffrey Tyler Wood, 19, of Aiken; Colby Tyler Reed, 22, of Bath; and Stacey Marie Edgerley, 37, of Wagener, were apprehended during a routine patrol of the 1800 block of Richland Avenue West, according to a press release.

Wood was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine within a half-mile of a school, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Reed was charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana within a half-mile of a school, possession of a controlled substance, possession of prescription drug without a prescription and providing false information.

Edgerley was charged with possession of a controlled substance, trafficking methamphetamine and providing false information.

Police noticed two people sitting in a vehicle parked in front of the motel when one of the suspects quickly exited the car and tried to leave when they spotted the officers.

Officers made contact with both occupants of that vehicle, who were identified as Reed and Edgerley. Methamphetamine, controlled prescription medications and a firearm were found inside the vehicle, according to police.

Officers then obtained and executed a search warrant for a room connected to those suspects, where they found large quantities of methamphetamine, marijuana, additional controlled substances and weapons. Wood was the occupant of that room.

All three suspects are currently being held in the Aiken County detention center.
