‘Billy’ Johnikin



LANGLEY, SC – Mr. William C. “Billy” Johnikin, 76, of Langley, beloved husband of forty-one years to Mrs. Patricia Jean Garvin Johnikin, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 16th, 2012, during Sunday morning service at his church, Faith Baptist.

Born in Hephzibah and a resident of the area most of his life, he was a son of Mary Frances Wright Johnikin, Augusta and the late Clarence Edgar Johnikin. He retired from Owens-Corning Fiber-glass where he was a Super-visor. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Johnikin was a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as Choir Director for twenty-seven years and also sang with a group at the church. First in his life came God and second was his family. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Michael Johnikin, (Heather) Columbia, Frances Marie “Frankie” Johnikin, Langley, Wesley Johnikin, Langley and Heather Miller, (James) Lexington, the late William Clarence Johnikin, Jr. and the late Charles Steven Johnikin; brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Johnikin, Thomson and grandchildren, Cameron Johnikin, Keeleigh Johnikin, Adam Miller, Conner Miller, Benjamin Miller and Ian Miller.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, September 20th, 2012 at 4 o’clock at Faith Baptist Church, Bath, with Pastor Michael Brendel officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville. Pallbearers will be Robert Gartman, Carl Wayne Gartman, Frank Garvin, Gurney Wiggins, Roger Stancel and Paul Sweeney.

The family has asked that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the American Cancer Society (http://www.cancer.org/) or the National Parkinson Foundation. (http://www.parkinson.org/)

Friends are welcome to call at the family residence.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday, September 19th, 2012, from 7 until 9 o’clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC.
