A South Aiken High School student was detained after first creating a disturbance, then assaulting and spitting on two teachers, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
The incident happened about 10:45 a.m. Monday at the school, according to an incident report. The school resource officer saw a teacher talking with the juvenile student "who was somewhat out of control and not listening to the victims, who were his teachers."
The teachers and officer decided to take the boy to the officer's office "where his behavior could be controlled away from other students and staff," police said. While en route to the office, the student slammed his metal water bottle into a water cooler and turned over chairs in the commons area, according to the report.
The juvenile calmed down in the office but became agitated again, slamming a keyboard to the floor and spitting on the two teachers, which led to him striking the female teacher in the head with a fist, police said. A male teacher tried to intervene when the juvenile started to hit and kick the female teacher.
"This turned into a full assault with multiple punches and kicks to the victim," the report states. The officer stepped in and grabbed the suspect's arms and held them together until the juvenile's mother arrived.
The report does not indicate whether charges were filed against the juvenile, or the extent of injuries to the two teachers.
