The eighth annual Aiken Kite Festival will not be rescheduled, despite being canceled last week due to rain and poor field conditions.
"The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department had worked very hard to prepare for the annual event, and is disappointed that we had to cancel for this year," the press release said.
The City extended its thanks to this year's sponsors: the Lobster Race, Access Chiropractic and Wellness, Select Health of South Carolina, Super Top Bouncers and Carolina Payday Loan Inc. The City also thanked this year's partners: Palmetto Kiwanis Club of Aiken and the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare.
