Aiken County finally will get to hear directly from representatives of the Palmetto Project pipeline.
Kinder Morgan, the company planning to build the pipeline, will participate in a public meeting in North Augusta on Thursday, May 21 at 6 p.m. at the North Augusta Community Center, according to Sen. Tom Young, R-Aiken.
Young and S.C. Rep. Bill Hixon, R-North Augusta pushed for a meeting in the county.
The Palmetto Project pipeline includes a proposed 360-mile fuel pipeline that will run from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, through Belton, South Carolina, and then through North Augusta and on to Jacksonville, Florida. The pipeline could carry a capacity of 167,000 barrels of fuel per day.
