Over-qualified
I have been unemployed from Savannah River Site for over four years, yet every time I try to get a job at a fast-food restaurant or other jobs I am told I am over qualified because I am over educated. What gives? If a person wants to work they should be able to. Any one out there that knows a place I can work let me know please.
Issues with time
To the dunce who wondered where NATO was when Sherman attacked and burned Columbia, NATO did not exist at that time. And the Civil War has been over for 147 years. Get over it and get a life.
Animal lover
I've lived in Aiken for 7 years in this neighborhood, and we have two little dogs. They're indoor dogs, and now we got a notice saying that they're disturbing people. I don't understand, because our dogs aren't left outside, they only go out 10 minutes at most, and in our yard. I think this is terrible; people should live and let live. I'm a dog lover, an animal lover, and I would never do that. I think more of my dogs than I do of people.
Horses at McDonald's
Yeah. Only in Aiken would you see a horse-drawn carriage in a McDonald's drive-through. That brightened my day.
Go back north
I'm reading on what we need in Aiken, and I agree we don't need anymore restaurants, and they should cut down a little on the sweet tea, but implants? Get real. The South is all about sweet tea, grits, gravy and fried chicken, they must be an implant. My dad's an implant, but that's crazy. They're crazy. Tell them to go back up North where they came from and eat some hominy.
Unneeded road
To the person that wants to connect the road from Aiken to I-95. Well, there is one route to the North, and one route to Florida. If you can't find it, Delta's ready when you are, or Greyhound is. We pay enough taxes as it is. I hope they never build one to I-95.
Watch out for people
People turning left at those left and stop and left turns in downtown Aiken on the circles need to be aware, too, that the walk directions for the walkers on the crosswalks are bringing them up at the same time. You have to watch out for those people too.
