A Warrenville man was shot in the leg after a verbal argument escalated with the driver of a truck that was speeding through a neighborhood Thursday.
The 37-year-old man was transported to an area hospital after he was found lying in a yard on Daley Drive in Warrenville with a gunshot wound to his inner left thigh, according to a sheriff's report.
Witnesses told investigators that the victim confronted the driver of a dark blue pickup that was driving at a high rate of speed up and down the road Thursday evening, according to the report.
The driver and an occupant exited the vehicle; one of the suspects was carrying a baseball bat and the other had a rifle, according to the report.
The victim began to flee on foot, the gun was fired, and the two suspects left in the vehicle, police said.
No arrests have been made.
