Aiken County deputies arrested a man after a gun was fired into the ground during a domestic dispute.
Sherman Reeves was arrested after fleeing on foot. He was charged with criminal domestic violence, unlawful carrying of a pistol, pointing and presenting a firearm and trespassing, according to Aiken County Sheriff's Lt. Vicky Gaskins.
No injuries were reported.
The incident happened about 1 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Herndon Dairy and Silver Bluff roads, according to Gaskins. A witness observed two people in a verbal altercation that then escalated when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot it into the ground, said Gaskins.
The suspect was found about a quarter of a mile from the scene hiding behind a shed.
