Aiken Community Playhouse Coffee House will offer variety

A musical preview and a Mark Twain portrayer will be part of Friday's Aiken Community Playhouse Coffee House event.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m.

Admission of $12 includes dessert and coffee, and a cash bar with beer and wine provided by Palmetto Package will be open.

Those wanting to participate in the open microphone segment can sign up at the door.

After open mic, Bob Rollins will portray Mark Twain, and local band Third Time Charmers will perform.

Cast members from the upcoming Playhouse musical "Les Misérables" also will sing a song from the show; the play opens May 22.

The event will be at the URS Center for the Performing Arts, 126 Newberry St. S.W.

This will be the last Coffee House event of the season.
