An arrest has been made in the 2012 slaying of a Wackenhut guard at the Savannah River Site.
Demarkeo Lockhart, 21, was charged with murder and burglary, according to Richmond County Sheriff's Office reports.
Lockhart already was in jail for driving under suspended license charges last week, according to reports.
On Dec. 9, 2012, Richmond County Sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary call at 2734 Willis Foreman Road, where they found Hester Jackson, 56, dead inside of his residence, according to incident reports.
Jackson likely surprised a burglar that had entered through a rear door when he came home from work the night before, according to reports.
His wife called police after he didn't answer her calls and he did not show up for work the next day, according to reports.
