An Aiken was met with charges Wednesday after his two pit bull dogs reportedly killed a neighbor's pet cat.
According to an Aiken Public Safety incident report, officers visited a residence on Long Ridge Loop where the dog owner lives after witnessing one of his canines holding a dead cat in its mouth.
Officers asked the dog owner if his dogs were registered and current on rabies shots. He said they were, but officers reportedly discovered that one dog was not registered and neither was current on shots.
The dog owner was charged with failure to inoculate, having animals at large and failure to register with the city.
