Residents in Aiken County have a new place to get pet supplies in North Augusta.
A Paw Above Pet Emporium, located on 507A Georgia Ave., opened earlier this month.
Carrie Carns, who owns the business with Laura Nichols, said it was an easy choice to open the business.
"We both decided it was time for a change in careers, and wanted to work in an industry that we are both very passionate about - animals," she said. "We decided to open the dog and cat pet supply and gift store because we knew there was a need for one in North Augusta. We carry quality brand cat and dog food and organic treats, beds, leashes, collars, training tools, grooming tools, health and wellness products, crates, carriers, toys, chews and gifts for pet lovers."
Right now, the store only caters to dogs and cats. The location was a draw to Carns, as she said both she and Nichols liked being downtown with easy access.
"We like being right in the heart of downtown North Augusta," she said. "Our goals are to provide quality product to pet owners in our community, to give back to our community by working with shelters and rescues."
