Twenty-two motorcycles filed into the Helping Hands Inc. parking lot recently for the second South Carolina Misfits Motorcycle Club pajama run.

The children, teens and staff of Helping Hands filled the courtyard as male and female bikers and their families, some dressed in their own pajamas, looped around to park their two-wheeled vehicles.

The school-aged and nursery-aged children loved looking at the cycles, sitting on them and talking with the bikers - who come several times throughout the year for special runs such as this one.

"My favorite was the motorcycle with the big grim reaper on it," explained one of the school-age residents who experienced his first run that day.

Thirty-three club members and supporters came to deliver 106 pairs of pajamas for the children and teens served by the agency, which provides care for abandoned, abused and/or neglected children.

On top of the large clothing donation, the club also donated $849.89 as unrestricted funds for the group home and its programs.

As stated by the group, the Misfits are "a family-based motorcycle club whose primary driving force is to help within our community as (they) deem necessary or as needed."

Helping Hands currently is the club's sponsored charitable organization of choice.

"We can't think of a better organization to support. We love putting these events together, and are very blessed to have the community support us the way that they do," said S.C. Misfits President Donnie Castricone.
