A Beech Island woman said an unknown man entered her home to offer "tree services" but stole her purse, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened 8 p.m. Saturday at a home on Beech Island Avenue, according to a sheriff's report. The victim said she saw an unknown man walking around her home who then came to the front door and entered the unlocked door.
The suspect started to tell the victim about "tree services he could offer her," police said. The suspect then stole the victim's purse, which contained cash and cards.
The suspect is described as a white man about 5-foot-9 and weighing 150 pounds with gray hair.
