A group of men were arrested during the Steeplechase races Saturday after getting too rowdy and heckling law enforcement.
Thomas Aaron, 22, Johnny Day, 45, Jaydean Gaskins, 22, Matthew Hugaboon, 21, all of Aiken; Dalton Redd, 20, and Jordan Babb, 23, both of North Augusta; and Richard Durden, 24, of Warrenville, were each arrested for disorderly conduct, according to an Aiken County Sheriff's report.
Deputies responded to a report of underage drinking and a group of grossly intoxicated individuals using profane language Saturday. The reporting officer didn't find anyone drinking underage but asked them to quiet down and to stop using profanity.
One of the subjects then asked deputies what they "were staring at" and to "meet him halfway in an aggressive manner," according to the report. When asked again to calm down by officers, the group started playing a vulgar song about law enforcement and began loudly singing along.
The seven men were taken into custody.
