One of the victims of a fiery March 19 wreck in Spartanburg was a North Augusta man, the Spartanburg County coroner has confirmed.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger identified two of the six victims on Friday as 30-year-old Brandon Simpkins, of North Augusta, and 29-year-old Jermy Givens-Reedus, of North Chicago, Illinois.

Clevenger said Simpkins was driving a car hit by a semi-truck involved in the crash and Givens-Reedus was a female passenger in the front seat of Simpkins' vehicle.

Troopers with the SC Highway Patrol said the crash happened just before 10 p.m. near exit 41 on the westbound side of the interstate, according to reports from WCSC-TV, Channel 5, in Spartanburg.

Troopers said a tractor-trailer, an SUV, two automobiles and a pedestrian were involved in the crash.

It took investigators until Monday to confirm six people died in the wreck.

The coroner's office is still working to identify the four other victims and is working with the Highway Patrol to investigate the accident, according to WCSC.
