A local nuclear-awareness group is expecting more than 100 golfers as it gears up for its 13th annual golf tournament next month.
Clint Wolfe, the executive director of Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness, or CNTA, said the tournament will be May 8, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. after the sound of a shotgun to signal the beginning of the tournament.
The cost to play is $100 for a single player and $400 for a foursome. The tournament fee includes a player's packs with range balls, green fees, carts and lunch.
The player's packs also include two prize tickets, two mulligans and two drink tickets. Additional prize tickets are available for $1 apiece. Prizes include drawings for gift certificates, golf items, free dinners, clothing and more. In addition, a grand prize will be awarded.
Wolfe added that CNTA will arrange for every player to be placed into a foursome.
"It will be a spectacular golf outing with 120 players expected to participate in the one-day event," Wolfe said.
To obtain an entry form, call CNTA at 803-649-3456 or email at cnta@bellsouth.net. Entry checks should be made out to CNTA prior to the tournament. The final day to register is May 4.
CNTA is an Aiken-based charitable educational organization dedicated to providing factual information about nuclear topics and educating the public on nuclear issues.
