NORTH AUGUSTA — The North Augusta Arts and Heritage Center introduced its open session exhibit Monday night, with local artists and residents on hand to view the work.
Andree Wallgren, executive director of the center, said the artists were open to do whichever medium of art they wanted to and were then judged for their work, with several taking home a cash prize.
"This year was a juried show and was judge by Edward Rice, a famous North Augusta artist," Walgren said. "It's a great exhibit with local artists and we're glad our center is able to showcase local talent."
One artist, Elizabeth Moretz-Britt, took home one of the cash prizes for her work and spoke about being a member of the center.
"I think it's great they have this open session because it allows you to showcase whatever you're working on at the time," Moretz-Britt said.
The exhibit will be open through April 24. For more information, visit www.artsandheritagecenter.com.
