Aiken has had its own bluegrass festival for more than a decade, and now Edgefield is adding its own.
Carolina Moon Distillery and other sponsors will present the first Edgefield Bluegrass Festival from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Edgefield Town Square.
The free event will feature local group Doug and the Henrys; Clyde's on Fire, of North Carolina; and nationally known New Country Rehab.
Paws & Hooves Animal Rescue will sell beer and wine, and vendors will sell food.
A "staged, old-fashioned shootout" will occur around 2:30 p.m., according to David Long of Carolina Moon Distillery.
Other sponsors include Price's Metal Shop, The Ole Edgefield Butcher Shop, Herlong Ford, Herlong Chevrolet-Buick, Watsonia, State Farm and JW Yonce & Sons' Big Smile.
