An accidental shooting occurred in Woodside Plantation Saturday afternoon, and one person was taken to the hospital.
Police arrived at a home on Magnolia Lake Court at 1:08 p.m. in response to the shooting. According to Aiken Public Safety Lt. Karl Odenthal, the victim suffered non-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital by a parent.
Officers secured the scene and recovered the weapon, Odenthal added.
Police are in the process of interviewing witnesses, and the shooting is being further investigated. One person was in custody, according to dispatch.
