An Aiken man was arrested after a shooting incident Wednesday on Herndon Dairy Road.
Sherman Reeves, 37, was charged with criminal domestic violence first offense, trespassing and for multiple Aiken County Sheriff's Office warrants.
Deputies responded at 1 p.m. to the scene. The victim told deputies she was picked up by Reeves to go to the doctor and ran out of gas, according to reports.
She said Reeves "got mad," and pulled out a gun, pointing it in her face. She said Reeves then pointed the gun at the ground and fired one shot, according to reports.
A witness who was driving by noticed the car parked on the side of the road and noticed Reeves circling the vehicle and firing at the ground, police said.
The witness also stated they saw Reeves grab the victim by the hair and put the gun to her head.
Other witnesses said Reeves left on foot going toward Silver Bluff Road. Deputies tracked down Reeves and found the gun inside a book bag he was carrying, according to reports.
Reeves was found on property with posted "no trespassing" signs, police said.
He was booked and taken to the Aiken County detention center, where he remained Thursday.
