Donna Moore Wesby, an Aiken County Board of Education member since 2008, said Tuesday she will not run for re-election in District 8 in Aiken in the November general election.
Since the spring of 2011, Wesby has hosted "Education Matters," a weekly one-hour program that airs each Wednesday on ASTV. She plans to devote more time to bringing related educational activities, such as workshops and conferences, to the community.
Richard Hazen, the District 9 School Board member in Aiken, does plan to run for a second term in November. He has previously served on South Aiken High School's athletic booster club, as chairman of the Area 1 Advisory Council and on the Public Education Partners Board of Directors.
