A Gloverville man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop on Gregg Highway Monday night.
Shane Blackwell, 38, was arrested by Aiken Department of Public Safety officers and charged with simple possession of marijuana after a vehicle search at 9:10 p.m.
Officers stopped Blackwell when he was traveling west on Richland Avenue and "crossing the center line multiple times," police said.
He told officers he was "messing with his phone" and admitted to crossing the center line, police said.
Blackwell told officers he was traveling from the Knights Inn to his father's house, according to reports.
Officers asked if they could search the vehicle, and Blackwell gave consent, authorities stated.
They found a plastic baggy containing a green, leafy substance that was believed to be marijuana. Blackwell admitted to possession of the bag and was placed under arrest, according to reports.
Blackwell was transported to the Aiken County detention center where he remained Tuesday morning.
