Aspen Dental will offer free dental care for veterans June 27.
Practices under the Aspen Dental brand are supported by Aspen Dental Management Inc., an organization that "provides nonclinical business support services to licensed, independent dentists," according to the Aspen Dental website.
The day for free dental care is part of Aspen's Healthy Mouth Campaign that launched in 2014.
Through the campaign, Aspen "delivers free dental care and oral health education directly to those who need it most, with a focus on serving veterans in 2015," according to a press release.
For Aiken veterans, the nearest office is located at 3456 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, and appointments are filling fast.
The two participating locations in Columbia, Harbison and Garner's Ferry don't have any appointments left. The Lexington office also is booked.
Appointments are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
If a veteran is interested, they should set up an appointment by calling 1-844-AspenHM (1-844-277-3646).
Veterans will not have to prove their need for free care or provide any proof of insurance when they arrive at their appointment.
The dentists will be treating the most urgent dental needs of each patient, so they intend to focus on procedures such as fillings, extractions and denture repairs, according to the Aspen website.
