A burglary suspect is being sought after assaulting a woman at a home he had broken into Wednesday.
Aiken County Sheriff's deputies responded to Opal Drive at 4:14 p.m. where a woman said she had been assaulted by an unknown suspect wearing black pants, boots, a white long-sleeve shirt and a black wrinkled face mask from a Halloween store.
The woman said when she arrived home, she found her back door open, police said. She investigated the situation, and found a man going through her belongings, according to reports.
She ran, and the suspect chased her, picked her up and threw her to the ground, said police adding the suspect then left the scene.
