A head-on collision in Aiken County left one person dead and another with minor injuries Friday morning.
Deborah Greer, 57, of Aiken was pronounced dead from multiple body trauma at the scene of the crash, said Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision took place at 9:10 a.m. at U.S. 78 at Airco Boulevard, just outside of Aiken.
A 2002 Honda Accord was traveling east on U.S. 78 when it ran off the right side of the road, according to S.C. Highway Patrol.
The driver reportedly made it back to the roadway, but crossed the center line and struck a 2003 GMC pickup pulling a trailer.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the truck was transported to Georgia Regents University with minor injuries.
The road was blocked off for more than two hours before it reopened at 11:45 a.m.
The Highway Patrol and Aiken County Coroner's Office are investigating the crash, Carlton said, and toxicology results are pending.
