South Carolina Education Lottery officials are looking for the individual who purchased a winning lottery ticket for $1 million in Florence last October.
The deadline to redeem the ticket is Thursday, and if nobody comes forward, it will be the largest unclaimed prize in the state Lottery's history, according to a press release. The current record is $825,000 for an unclaimed ticket purchased in Belton in 2009, the press release states.
The winning Powerball ticket was purchased in October from the Phoenix Mart at 2698 W. David McLeod Blvd. in Florence. It matched all five white ball numbers, which are 6, 10, 51, 54 and 57 but missed the red Powerball, which was 12.
The winner must come in person to the Lottery's Columbia Claims Center at 1309 Assembly St. by 4 p.m. on Thursday to pick up their prize.
If it remains unclaimed, $1 million prize will go to fund education in South Carolina.
Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
