The grant funds must be used for marketing tourism-related events and programs, with the priority of funding to be in Aiken County's unincorporated areas.
The tourism events or programs must take place and be completed between July 1 and June 30, 2016.
The tax funds are collected in the unincorporated areas through the accommodations tax and are to be distributed to help replenish the accommodations tax base, according to a press release. Applicants must have 50 percent matching funds.
The deadline to turn in an application is 5 p.m., Friday, June 5, and staff will notify the applicants of any errors or missing information if applications are turned in by Friday, May 22.
